Bandai Namco opens its new VR room with Mario, Gundam, Godzilla…

Summary

In Europe, virtual reality has not yet really succeeded in seducing the general public. On the other hand, in Japan, this technology has met with phenomenal success. The Japanese love to immerse themselves in the virtual world, and do not hesitate to spend to enjoy this entertainment.

This is the reason why Bandai Namco announces the opening of a new VR Zone arcade room named ”Mazaria“ in Tokyo's Toshima Ward. Just like in Shinjuku's VR Zone, players will be able to indulge in exclusive VR games drawn from cult franchises in Japanese pop culture.

Bandai Namco Mazaria: a huge VR arcade divided into four sections

The room will be divided into four sections, each offering a different genre of games. Within the Festival Zone, visitors will be able to play Mario Kart VR, Taiko no Tatsujin VR, or Pacman VR. In the Adventure Zone, you can play Dragon Quest VR, go fishing, or go rafting with your friends.

The Panic Zone, meanwhile, will bring together horror experiences and other thrilling games. Finally, the SF Zone brings together experiences related to science fiction. We find in particular games from Gundam and Godzilla, or the Galaga shoot'em up.

This new park dedicated to VR will open its doors on July 12, 2019. A adult pass for the day will be offered for $ 39, while the children will have to pay 25 dollars. If you are planning to visit Tokyo soon, this is your chance to take a tour of this arcade! If not, all you have to do is cross your fingers and hope that the games offered by Bandai Namco eventually arrive with us. So far, only Mario Kart VR has been exported to London…
