After Community Days and research studies, Niantic is launching a new event in Pokémon Go. ”Legendary Lunch Hour“.

Every day, from noon to 13 p.m., the number of legendary raids on the map will increase significantly. The opportunity to take advantage of your lunch break to stock up on legendary Pokémon, experience points and items.



Delivery charges raid eggs will appear at 11:50 a.m. on the arena, with a 10-minute countdown. Once the egg hatches, the raid will be available for one hour. However, let's clarify that the eggs will only appear on free arenas that have neither raid nor egg at 11:50 am.

Knowing that the raid will only be available for an hour, a few tips can help you enjoy the event to the fullest. First of all, take care of plan the path to take for your raid group by choosing several arenas close to each other.

Where possible, form a group of many high level trainers whose teams are made up of Pokémon suitable for the current raid. In Dialga's case, Ground-type and Fighting-type Pokémon are the most effective.

When it comes to capturing the Legendary Pokémon, try to save time by using berries to increase your chances of catching when throwing pokeballs. Also make perfect throws with effect. Anyway, if you already own the Pokémon, the easiest way is to skip the capture step to go directly to the next raid with your group.



In the best case, you will be able to complete 10 Legendary Raids during Legendary Lunch Hour. Knowing that you have to wait 2 minutes in the lobby, that the fight will take at least 1 minute, and that it will take three minutes to move from one arena to another, it will be difficult to complete more than ten raids in one hour.

At first, Niantic intends to be content to test this new event which should allow to gather a maximum of players at lunchtime. If success is there, Legendary Raid Hour will become a daily event.


The first Legendary Lunch Hour has taken place this March 13, 2019 from 12 to 13 p.m.. The event takes place at the same time all over the world, taking local time into account.
