The release of Pimax 8K and its accessories postponed again

Summary

It is starting to look like an Arlesian. Indeed, Pimax has once again postponed the launch of its new 8K headsets, long promised to backers.

We will of course give Pimax the benefit of the doubt, but it should be remembered that it is also the danger of investing in a crowdfunding platform, which is then difficult to complain about the delays!

The release of Pimax 8K and its accessories postponed again

Pimax is expected to launch 8K headsets in early 2020

This is not news that should please the nearly 6.000 people who have supported Pimax for a funding of 4,2 million on the participatory platform Kickstarter. Pimax has therefore just changed the release dates of its various models. The 8K Plus should be sent at the end of 2019 at the latest. To justify this delay, the company is highlighting last minute changes to improve quality. Fans should therefore have it in 2020. The 8K X model, meanwhile, should be sent between late March and early April 2020, linked to the fact that it is in fact still in development.

The engineering team is finishing assembling the latest models for testing this week. They were initially to be sent at the end of December. Finally, the Pimax Comfort Kit, for its part, should be sent more or less at the same time as the 8K Plus, so in the coming weeks. The Index controllers and Steam VR base stations will be sent out at the beginning of next January. There would only be packaging details to settle. Hopefully this time the dates will be respected, because it harms the image of the manufacturer.
