The karting game is a classic on console and PC. The recent release of the game Crash Team Racing proves this brilliantly. However, in virtual reality, it is a very little used sector. Only the game “VR Karts”, with very mixed success, attempted the foray into VR. The announcement of the studio Ivanovich Games could therefore relaunch the genre, especially since the game is multi-player (up to 8 simultaneous players) and multiplatform.
Touring Karts will offer different VR view modes
The Touring Karts game intends to reinvent arcade kart racing. The game will be available both in arcade, game console, smartphone but also in VR with PlayStation VR, Windows Mixed Reality, Oculus (probably Quest, Rift and Rift S) and HTC Vive virtual reality headsets. In virtual reality mode, the game will offer different view modes such as first person as if you were in the Kart, third person just behind the Kart as well as an outdoor arcade point of view in Room Scale.
The Ivanovich Games studio has announced that the Touring Karts game will also be multi-player for wild games. 22 circuits will be available as well as 30 vehicles, many of them inspired by Formula 1 cars. Different wacky weapons will be available such as throwing a chicken. It will also be possible to combine two weapons, such as, for example, a missile launcher and a banana which gives a banana launcher. The game will be released in the fourth quarter of this year with no specific date yet.
